Outreach MINISTRY

What is Outreach Ministry?

The responsibilities of the Outreach Ministry Team include overseeing communication primarily through signage and the website, determining and responding to the diverse needs of surrounding communities, educating and involving the congregation in social issues and affairs of the church, and reaching out to those in need locally, nationally, and globally through established programs of the ELCA or other similar programs and initiatives. Outreach Ministry follows a framework based on input from the congregation-at-large which broadly supports giving to agencies that fight hunger and housing shortages, and that support families in need and the disenfranchised. We sponsor and encourage congregational discussions about our mission and projects and take guidance from the concerns of our members. 

If you are interested in attending an Outreach Meeting or joining this ministry, the meetings are held at the church on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM.

There are also a variety of volunteer opportunities and projects available to those interested in Outreach but unable to attend our meetings. For questions or more information on our initiatives, contact the office at office@stjohnsudbury.org

Acton Community Supper

St. John sponsored our first Acton Community Dinner of the year at Mt. Calvary on March 6, 2024.  Folks enjoyed good food and fellowship, along with music provided by a college group from Valparaiso.  Thank you to everyone who served!  Our next dinner at Mt. Calvary will be Wednesday, October 2nd, from 4:00 - 6:00pm.
